How did you first get interested in bodybuilding, and what motivated you to start competing?
Much like any typical teenager, my journey into the world of fitness began as a mere hobby. However, as I ventured into college, it transformed into an all-consuming passion. It was during this period that I took the plunge into competitive bodybuilding and proudly clinched my first victory in the year 2005.

Can you describe your typical training regimen and how it has evolved over the years?
When it comes to my training journey, I believe it’s been a mix of both luck and relentless hard work. I was fortunate to have the right coach guiding me at the perfect time, and my dedication was unwavering – I never missed a training session, no matter the circumstances.
My training philosophy is rooted in the “old school” approach of heavy lifting. This method has played a pivotal role in helping me sculpt my body according to my long-standing goals and aspirations.
What does your daily or weekly meal plan look like to maintain your physique and prepare for competitions?
In bodybuilding, meal planning is akin to an art form. My approach to meal planning revolves around prioritizing whole, natural foods like chicken breast, egg whites, oats, and brown rice. I steer clear of processed foods entirely, a choice that has undoubtedly helped me maintain a lean physique even during the off-season. Typically, I adhere to a high-protein diet and adjust my carbohydrate intake based on my body’s specific condition and needs. This personalized approach ensures I’m always optimizing my nutrition to support my fitness goals.
What role does supplementation play in your nutrition plan, and do you have any favorite supplements or strategies you find particularly effective?
Supplements play a vital role in expediting my recovery process, and I firmly believe that a strategic approach to supplementation can truly make a significant difference. Among my preferred supplements that I incorporate into my diet are whey protein isolate, BCAA, creatine, glutamine, and supplements designed to support organ health. These choices have proven instrumental in enhancing my training and recovery.
Can you describe the process of preparing for a men's physique competition, from choosing a show to peak week strategies?
Competing on stage necessitates a well-defined goal and a thought-out strategy to reach that goal. It all starts with careful planning during the off-season, working closely with your coach. Based on the condition of your body, you then determine the number of weeks required to cut down before the show. The critical “peak week” depends upon how effectively you’ve executed your plan and is finely tuned to align with your specific body condition. This balanced approach ensures you’re in the best possible shape when you step onto the stage.

Do you work with a coach or trainer, and how has their guidance impacted your success in the sport?
I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to my coach, Murtuza Rashid, and my mentor, Mr. Samrat Choudhary. I consider myself truly blessed to have these incredibly influential and supportive individuals in my life. It’s thanks to their guidance and unwavering support that I find myself where I am today.
How do you manage the psychological aspects of bodybuilding, such as body image, self-esteem, and the pressure to always look your best?
Honestly, I don’t let any pressure associated with these matters get to me. My self-belief and unwavering dedication to the sport shield me from all negative influences.
Can you share any memorable or inspiring moments from your bodybuilding journey that have had a significant impact on your life?
One of the most unforgettable moments in my entire career occurred when I lost my pro card in December 2021, only to reclaim it triumphantly in June 2022. It was undeniably one of the most challenging periods in my career. I had to swiftly reassess and recalibrate everything I had worked for in a remarkably short span of time. However, with the grace of God, I managed to make a spectacular comeback.
Can you share some of the biggest challenges you've faced in your bodybuilding journey and how you overcame them?
Devoting nearly a year to prepare for a competition only to face disappointment on stage is truly disheartening. I’ve personally experienced multiple setbacks on the stage, and summoning the same level of enthusiasm each time proved to be a challenge. Additionally, bodybuilding is undeniably a costly affair and the absence of sponsorships made it incredibly tough to manage the expenses associated with my preparation.

What are your long-term goals and aspirations in men's physique bodybuilding, and how do you plan to continue growing and evolving in the sport?
Bodybuilding is indeed more of a marathon than a sprint. Patience is the cornerstone of success, and I firmly believe that with steadfast dedication, I will inch closer to my goals. I have set my sights on competing in the PRO show in the upcoming year, and I am committed to giving it my all. My ultimate, long-term aspiration is to achieve the highest possible placement in the prestigious Olympia competition, all in the pursuit of making my country proud.
What advice would you give to someone who is considering getting into men's physique bodybuilding and wants to compete at a high level?
My advice to any beginner in the world of bodybuilding is to begin with small steps. Start by participating in district-level competitions, gain valuable experience, and then progress to higher levels gradually. It’s important to understand that jumping directly to the IHFF Olympia stage may not be the most beneficial route, unless you happen to be an exceptional genetic talent or a rare gift of nature. Above all, the key to success lies in unwavering consistency, both in your diet and your workout regimen. It’s this consistency that will lay the foundation for your growth and progress in the sport.
